Being that there was no one fighting for motorcyclists, and being that Tom was a motorcyclist, he took that fight on himself, eventually winning and opening the HOV lanes to motorcyclists. From that point on, Tom McGrath became the person that motorcyclists turned to for help when their rights were being violated. Motorcyclists came to Tom when the government discriminated against them and they came to him when they were injured by someone else’s carelessness and the insurance companies refused to fulfill their responsibility to them.
