Biker Group Honors Local Attorney
From the neck up, he's an attorney, distinguished looking with medium-length silver hair, wire frame glasses and a neatly trimmed beard. But form his blue work shirt with sleeves rolled up to his black boots resting on a blue Harley Davidson Low Rider, J. Thomas "Tom" McGrath is a motorcyclist.
McGrath, the founder of the Virginia Coalition of Motorcyclists (VCOM), a state political action committee that lobbies for motorcyclists' rights, was honored with the National Coalition of Motorcyclists' Silver Spoke Award at it's national convention.
Since McGrath founded VCOM in 1992, it has fought aggressively for the motorcyclists' rights.
"We're in a constant battle to preserve our right to ride." McGrath said. "These are things other drivers take for granted."
